Dōgen: Really Funny in Japanese
Recently, (I’m probably late to the game as always) I came across a YouTuber going by the name Dōgen. The American (from Washington state) has grown quite a following with his short “Japanese lessons” on Twitter. The expertly edited videos feature Dōgen speaking extremely fluent Japanese into a mic. His deadpan delivery and offbeat sense of humor arising from situations all too familiar to foreigners in Japan have made his videos my newest addiction. His recent fame has even seen him being featured in the Japan Times. I see there are also some longer and deeper videos on his channel which I will look at when I have more time but for now I thought I would share this with you. Enough talking about his videos.
